We are delighted that our glassmaking film of Liam making a scent bottle has been selected to be shown at the V&A in conjunction with the Crafts Council, Power of Making exhibition 6th September 20011 to 2nd January 2012. The V&A is the world`s greatest museum of art and design and this exhibition celebrates the role of making in our lives by presenting an eclectic selection of exquisitely crafted objects.
The film was made last December by the very talented film maker Matthew Geraghty. It was a cold and snowy winter`s day when Matt arrived to shoot. He soon warmed up with the heat of the furnace as Liam set about making scent bottles. This was such an enjoyable day and when we finally saw the edited version we were quite overwhelmed with the emotional connection the film made.
We are delighted that Liam`s work will be shown at the V&A, a fantastic accolade for any artist. We also welcome greater publicity for makers in all fields. We enjoyed watching a number of films showing the beauty and art of skillful man and women all over the country. We can`t wait to take a trip to London to visit this wonderful and inspiring exhibition. http://www.vam.ac.uk/content/exhibitions/power-of-making/
