Handmade Desirables The Way of the Future

When I wrote my first blog in January (hasn't time flown by), encouraging us all to keep putting our best stitching, knitting, sewing, crafting hands forward and pave the way, my friends who read the blog were saying "where are the pictures" and "it's a bit long!".

Being mindful of of those comments, I come again to cheer you on against the midst of continuous rain, and an economy that is lacking in lustre.  However, fear not my fellow crafters, did you know that the way of the future is 'handmade'.  Through my research and having attended a variety of business seminars, our work, is the way of the future.  Now it may appear to be a slow shift from the mass production, cheap as chips mentality, but we are in fact part of a growth industry.

Take my friend Jannet Ellis for example founder of http://www.freshasadaisycards.com who in addition to her wonderful cards has also added handmade chocolates into the mix, and I had to share with you this chocolate shoe, how yummy.  Exclusivity of this sort has always been associated with luxury high-end goods, and my research further suggested that customers do not mind paying more for quality.

I can attest to their popularity having been on the receiving end of thank you cards and messages from my mum, aunties and girlfriends for what they say is a thoughtful and touching gift - Santa will be bringing me a big sack this year!

On that note my fellow crafters, if our goal is always to be the best that we can be, offering excellent customer service into the mix, then we cannot fail to hit our mark.  To your continuous success...
