All the fun of the (Craft) Fair

Handmade Christmas

As those on Twitter are probably aware, there's a big campaign going on to promote a Handmade Christmas. I just think choosing, giving and even making handmade gifts is a really beautiful way to show someone they are really special to you…

My blog today is on the theme of Folk Art and my ability to paint and draw with yarn, threads and fabric which completely diasappears with a pen, pencil or paint brush. As my latest make is a Folk Art inspired floral brooch, I then went on to choose Folk Art items for my Folksy Friday . my very first... which then lead me to another very first.... my first blog hop!

Here's the little brooch that started all these firsts:…

I do like to be beside the seaside

Being a lover of the sea, sometime ago I got my hands on some lovely mohair yarn in sea colours and made a lapghan or footwarmer blanket out of it. I finally listed it on Folksy today as part of their October FolksFest and today's blog entry is a showcase for things nautical other folksters are posting as part of the challenge :-)… Continue

Latest Project

I am really inspired by vintage and antique items of clothing and accessories that can be remodelled by knitting, crochet or fabric into beautiful and current items. Have a look on my blog at my plans for an 18th C child's vest. Will be uploading pics of the project as it progresses ...
