Here I am at work, I hope you all feel really sorry for me sob! Actually it's ok. I usually take Sundays off but as it's bank holiday and likely to be busy I've come in to help my husband in his tourist attraction. So far it's been busy in batches. It seema that when one person braves the door and starts having a go other people think it's safe to come in! We run a BrassRubbing Centre, full of replicas of Memorial brasses from the middle ages, from a few inches high to 7 feet.…

So relieved my new website about knitting (called www.justknitting.co.uk
) has gone live after a couple of days scratching my head!
I hope it will be useful for fellow knitters, as it gathers together lots of useful info about knitting, including what to knit for charity and ideas for selling. If anyone has ideas for expanding it, do let me know!

In the 1980s I studied textile design and, in particular, African textiles such as indigo dyeing, kente weaving, Asafo flags and adinkra printed cloth. These fantastically vibrant cloths were the basis of much of my design work. I was also supplementing my grant by making kimono jackets which I then sold to fellow students and much of the material came from Brixton Market.
