diving in at the deepend as usual

okay I have found a blog so here I am. hello people! just discovered this and love the way, with my fairly erratic and dubious IT skills, I have been able put up pictures, and am beginning to find my way around. I used to paint, still draw, but LOVE needles. I do needle felting, work with crochet hooks, knitting needles, sewing needles, and have bags (literally) of projects cluttered around the house. My ironing board is my work table (one of them) and in just the last four weeks I have been… Continue

Easter Project

Aswell as adoring fabric I like nothing better than leafing through craft books, particuarly those about sewing and of course feature fabric! I discovered Sew Pretty Homestyle by Tone Finnanger last year and quite literally feel in love with the projects in the book. The pictures of the creations were inspriing and the instructions for the projects were clear with a section at the beginning about how to choose fabrics and notions and pattern cutting. I have since added to my collection Sew… Continue

Seeing yoyos before my eyes!

I have spent the past few days in between everything else sewing fabric yoyos for some cushions I am busy making. Big ones, small ones, medium sized ones.....pink ones, stripey ones, dotty ones and yellow ones, I'm beginning to wonder if it's spots or yoyos before my eyes!! So to give me a break from little running stitches I decided to see what other people are using yoyos for!

To see a lovely selection of how other crafty people are using yoyos and instructions to make a yoyo visit… Continue

The cogs of creativity

Have just been for a very, very long walk with with my dog, which gave me the opportunity to think about new ideas. My brain has been whirring around and I'm feeling all inspired again. If only I could just remember to take a notebook along with me....

new destash shop opened

Whilst I'm on the hunt for all things lovely, I often end up with far too much of one item. For instance I might buy a pair of vintage curtains to make a bag but I only need half the fabric.

So much has been building up in my studio, that I can hardly move so I thought I had better make some room. I have therefore opened a 2nd shop of Folksy selling all my unwanted materials.… Continue

Spring Forward

Spring Forwards Fall Back

Pansies & playing with clay

Just back from a chillaxed weekend in West Wales! ahh bliss, but I didn't waste any

valuable crafting time, made some lovely polymer clay canes for some flowery beads - my absolute favourite is the blue and purple pansy, which was very time consuming, but worth it.

Helloooooo out there!

So this is my first UK Handmade blogpost and I feel rather nervous about it!

Stained Glass Bunting

This is by far my most popular design to date, in the first 12 hours it had had 120 views! which for me is massive and I have already sold some, yeah!

They are made entirely from waste glass and so come in a rainbow of colours, though I can make them to order if you want specific colours. Each one comes with 5, 10 cm long bunting flags

I have seen a lot of bunting in my time, but I havent found any other stained glass bunting anywhere else (yet!). Please let me know what you… Continue
