UK Handmade Mother's day gifts

Mother's day is around the corner and as a busy new Mum working to keep up with a speedy 10 month old and a new business (Rhubarb fancy) I know I would certainly love to receive a gift made with care and passion. UK handmade really is a fantastic way to bring UK made products and producers together to promote the revival of UK handmade items.

Handmade pottery plates

Making plates is a challenge, I actually think its harder to make a plate than it is a teapot. A controversial opinion I know! But stay with me here, plates use up a huge amount of clay somewhere between 1.8 and 2 kilos. Centering clay at this size is difficult, its all pure technique between you, the wheel and the clay.

Update on Bubble Trump Ltd

Hello!

Hope everyone is ok on this manic Monday.

Just a quick update on what Bubble Trump has been up to this weekend.

After a manic scrabble trying to try to grab and pack everything we needed to set up shop in Clitheroe and a hugely early start we had a great day.

The weather held off so we didn't get soaked but plenty of cups of tea were needed to keep our fingers from going blue.

The response we got was awesome and we…

Creating live Terrariums

My Terrarium is made from living moss, herb cuttings, mustard seeds and a flowering rock garden plant called 'carpet of snow'. To make your own all you'll need is a large glass jar, fill the bottom with some drainage stones or sand - this will stop your Terrarium from getting clogged up with water.

I did find enough photos covering the various stages of a drawing, on the blog is a slideshow covering the process from this....…

Spring Cleaning

I'm perhaps being premature, but it does seem a little warmer here in Tunbridge Wells.  I've spent the last couple of days completely reorganising my rooms and cupboards and most importantly requisitioning a tiny area of my bedroom as "studio space".  Inspired by a copy of Craft, Inc., that I picked up in a charity shop,…
