competition

I haven't been around any of this for very long but I have definately noticed how many jewellery shops are around.!! At first I thought I would be the one with the most competition ( knitting/crochet etc) but I think people trying to sell jewelery have it just as hard. There are some beautiful items out there and if I was looking for a piece I would be spoilt for choice!! So all you clever ladies who make jewelery, how do you cope and do you have any tips for me please?

I do have an Etsy Shop but haven't used it as I only have and use my Website and my Handmade with Passion UK EXPO to sell my Handmade Products.

The links on your UK Handmade profile (in the profile information section) - though you seem to have moved them now!

Hiya Pauline - hopefully we'll manage to muddle through this together. I admire anyone who can knit, sew, crochet - I've got lots of books and some of the equipment but have a long way to go!!  Oh, by the way, the links on your profile for your blog and folksy shop are not working properly, just so you know!

Hi Pauline.....wow...yes it was me  !!!  Lovely to catch up with you again..hope you are well.

Loving your quilts :)  I am taking up quilting, only for personal relaxation, not to sell, and as a diversion from wool....I bought a book on Amish quilts and will be having a go...have bought so much fabric...and still a long list of wants !!  ha ha

Great to have a friend I can chat with on here.

Off to finish some orders now...will chat soon  Sara x

Hi Pauline

No problem, I had a lot of questions when I started - the Folksy Forum was a pretty good place to learn from.  I did work out the sales but I forget now, I think it was 60% from general public and about 40% from Folksy crafters.

Hi Pauline

I sell on Folksy of course, first sale was last July and now approaching 50 sales, Also I sell in local outlets (named on my website).  I made a fair few for Christmas Pressies too, mainly the custom design ones with peoples dogs and other pets on them. Takes a lot of promotion to be seen out there.

I struggle round most things IT, much better than I was but every new venture takes me much longer than most.
