Butterfly1

The weather in the Glasgow area has been horrible lately, so I've just put up my pic of a butterfly on the buddleia in my garden to remind me it is still August!

Emma Jayne's Exhibition -til 6 Dec 09 at The 13th Note, Glasgow

Managed to pop in and see Emma Jayne's work. Looks great 'in the flesh'-would recommend anyone in Glasgow to go see. It's a handy venue for Xmas shoppers-jst across from St. Enoch Mall-and you could grab some lunch here also! :)

Thanks for getting in touch, Maga, it's good to hear from you! And thanks for your wishes about UK Handmade - I'm so excited by what opportunities there are, and they are such a gorgeous bunch of people! Tell everyone you know to come along and join - so many fab opportunities are coming up!

I'm glad to say I'm over the chest infection, although the doc things I may have cracked a rib from coughing, so I'm still in a bit of pain. Hope things are brightening up for you these days - it's nearly spring, so it can't be all bad!!

Thanks Margaret. I wish I could take credit for the finches, but they're my wife's work, they are fab though.

Nice blog, btw ;)

Hi margaret! Can't send you a reply email for some reason, so I'll post this instead.

And I'm assuming the news article wasn't about me... ;)

Yes, life is busy not only with commissions but also online sales - I had five over the weekend from Etsy and Folksy, and another couple of commissions, which is something of a record! I had taken this weekend off to concentrate on making up stock for the last two craft fairs of the year, but instead I've been up to my eyes in Santa Cat Tree Decorations!! Not complaining, though - it's been great getting back to the kitchen table after a particularly busy week at work!

Do you know, I haven't had a go at the Loch Ness Monster yet! Nor have I perfected the McTavish Cat, although I've got lots of ideas for a Scottish kitten! I was thinking tartan coloured cat, but now I'm thinking cat with a kilt and sporran! Will post photos once created - wish me luck!!

Your blog is lovely, Maga - I'm now following it and I'll add a link to it on my own page (www.quernuscrafts.co.uk). Yes, Christmas is in full swing now and although the Christmas cats are definitely getting an airing, I'm getting in a lot more commissions which is fantastic! I love working out how to make one of my cats looks like, for example, a Pirate or a Yeti. Or characters from Star Wars! What about you? Do you have a lot of events lined up in the run up to Christmas?

Hi Maga, thanks for your comment its nice to get feedback. I was wondering what techniques you have used for your daisyblue as its beautiful. Is it a picture, fabric design, greeting card etc, it could easily be used for all, chantelle :)
