I have an equal passion for Bearmaking, patchwork, applique and quilting, and knitting. The desire to create using one of these methods will always be to the fore and occassionally I get into trouble when two or more are there at the top together. I am pleased to have been accepted in this group to promote, share, and seek advice. Some of your avatars I have seen before in other forums, others I look forward to getting to know in the coming weeks.
It is my intention to get to grips with my website over the quiet spell in January so please do not judge the state of it at the moment. The webmaster is brilliant with the techy stuff but admits to getting lost with the crafty bit, alas that leaves yet another job to me. I am sure others here share the dread of the "office" jobs and prefer the creating side.

Tardiness in posting

Apologies for being away from this page for far too long. All parents have kept us running around hospitals and hospices this past year and indeed we lost one parent last November.

Technology updates at parents houses has meant I can keep in touch while away on parent duties and less catching up for me each time I am at home. This…

Upcycling for a workbasket

I was in desperate need for a large workbasket that could accomodate different types of projects and the paraphanalia that is needed for each craft.

Running out of time, I remembered that one of the supermarkets did an eco friendly jute bag in a nice large size. First visit to said supermarket, no jute bags at the till.

Next visit to the supermarket and it was hubby who remembered about the bag and found one on the checkout station.…

This years Christmas presents

Can't beleive that it has been a year since I added a post here!

Have had a busy year creating and have also had family health issues that have meant a lot of travelling for hospital appointments etc. Not over yet, but taking a few days to try and catch up in all my pages online.

Off to add pictures of the presents I created this year. If you are interested you can pop over to my pictures and see what I have been up to.

Is it the oval beads in my profile pic you saw Margaret? I still have that necklace available.I know when I made them, the sanding was a nightmare. It may have been the black clay as I don't usually use so much. Sorry, going off on a tangent here.

I may make some again but I do like to keep trying different techniques and colours. Thanks so much for your comments!

Thank you! I reuse the good bits from anything damaged, tray cloths because they seem to get abandoned and for the other bits I try to find cloths the same size and sew together to make bedspreads etc. Anything really well done, of value/collectability etc I leave as is and use them as it was intended. I must have the most ridiculous amount of tablecloths!

Hello Margaret,

Thanks for your lovely comments about my website, and for welcoming me to the group.

I hope that coping with the health problems of your parents doesn't keeping you away from your bears for too long!

Looking forward to taking part in the discussions,

Sheila

Hi Margaret

I know Portknockie well I used to live in Elgin then several years at Spey Bay.  I had friends staying in portknockie so was through a lot to see them.  now I am just up that way to visit my brother and his family in Buckie.

I am on facebook.  Could you send me the link to the north east group?

Thank you for the lovely comment on my jewellery, never sure if folk will like it or not as it is a bit different :)  just wait till I load my little witches :D

What lovely bears you make. I have inherited some of my Nans patterns for cuddly toys thought I might give them a go! I think that your stained glass picture is great too.

Hi, thanks for you comments:) I found your Slackstiches page and you do some lovely work too.
I have been making my creations since last summer as presents for family and friends and everyone said 'you should sell them' which isn't as easy as I imagined. But I have just started so it needs time I suppose. The hardest part is getting people to know that you are out here in amongst the 100's of other creators! I have an Etsy and Folksey shop and am thinking about one on Facebook too.
