With a professional background in Architecture and Graphic Design, I am drawn to beautiful form and shape, reflecting my love of anything and everything. Old books, vintage textiles, antique postcards and packaging are among some of the things that influence my work. Also working as Sketchbook Squirrel, my Blog, Facebook page and blip journal is home to my work as a botanical artist.
Now working as a self-taught botanical artist, I find the complex yet simple beauty of plants both challenging and satisfying to reproduce. Choosing to work in both graphite and pure watercolour offers me the flexibility to capture the full exuberance and richness of colour or follow a pared-down approach for a more structural form, allowing each subject to shine.

Beauty Bound Books said… Hi Jarnie
Thanks for getting in touch. I'm still getting to grips with this site & get a bit lost sometimes, so apologies if I've replied in the wrong place!
I am on facebook - my BBB page is added onto my personal profile. I'm wanting to establish a separate page but haven't succeed yet! But you can find me by typing Beauty Bound Books. I'm also on Twitter, Etsy & Folksy & have my own website: www.beautyboundbooks.com I also make bespoke books to order. So if you're ever in need of a sketchbook, let me know : )
Your pictures are so delicate. I will keep an eye out for your new posts & paintings.
Best Wishes
