I am an artisan jewellery designer and metalsmith indulging my passion for creating beautiful pieces of unique handmade jewellery. I work with precious metals and gemstones and my current style relies heavily on sterling silver, although I occassionally embelish designs with elements of gold.

I use many of the traditional skills of the metalsmith to bring my creations to life: piercing, hammering, forming, filing and soldering are the backbone of every piece. Stone-setting, etching, fusing, oxidation and reticulation are just some of the techniques used to add texture, colour and interest. In the future I hope to incorporate enamelling into my designs - this is an art and a craft in itself with which I am only just beginning to experiment.

Thank you for your welcome & kind words. Its great to get to know people as Im just starting out & its all a bit new! Your jewellery is amazing - do you sell at shows or do you have a shop? I live in a very small village about a mile from the sea called Axmouth which is situated in between Beer & Lyme Regis. Not far from Honiton at all! Its a beautiful area & Im very lucky as I can walk/run with my 3 Dalmatians in fields, woods & beaches but it can be a bit isolating! I walk them for an hour twice a day & rarely meet anyone if i stay in Axmouth!
I have changed my Facebook link so hopefully this will work now. Busy setting up a website this week & hoping this will help promote my things.
I shall visit your website tomorrow & like your Facebook page!
Thank you again for your lovely welcome,
Sarah x
Rebecca New said… Hi Ana, thanks for your message. I don't have my own website at the moment, but I have shops on Folksy and MISI. I sometimes do some of the craft events in the Portsmouth area, which includes the boutique markets at the Guildhall. I am also on Facebook and Twitter.

Thanks for your comments Ana - it is sometimes tricky to find things that have been written!

Thank you for your lovely welcome to the forum, im still getting my bearings, but i think im getting the hang of it. Thank you also for you kind comments on my pieces i take that as a huge compliment because you are obviously very talented in your craft, your items are stunning, and they photograph so clearly. Ive always wanted to combine metal with paper but havent the time or space, ( or even the foggiest idea about metal work lol) but its something i'll may look at in the future.
All the best with your shop,
Jem

I always feel especially happy when I'm asked by a friend to create a bespoke piece of jewellery. On this occasion, it was even more special as it was to be a gift commissioned in celebration of a 40th birthday and the design had to reflect both the birth date and, more importantly, the significance…

I've a real passion for Celtic knotwork and after the success of the Celtic Cross pendant I was longing to explore more ideas.
Charm bracelets are still proving very popular, so I thought I'd have a go at…

'Mosaic of Fossils in Silver' Cuff Bangle
Following on from last week's post, here are some images of the finished Cuff Bangle. I'm delighted with this piece and already contemplating how I can use this stunning etch design on another creation. Perhaps a necklace with three etched drops of silver each with a few highlights of 24ct gold? Mmmm, worth a…
