Comment by Jane Hamill on March 28, 2012 at 12:32 Thanks for the link, Anna. As a glass beadmaker, the lampwork section is very useful for showing my customers the history behind the technique as well as the time and skill involved.
Comment by Siân Pitchford on March 28, 2012 at 11:09 Thank you Anna for your comment.
I have looked at the information on your link and its really interesting covering the various techniques and styles and when and how created.
Anyone interested in glass beads should have a read.

Comment by Anna Weller of BBLB on March 16, 2012 at 13:19 Just had a quick look and was struck by the beautiful simplicity of your tiaras . . . like a string of balloons!
The only Murano beads we stock are the occasional vintage find . . . but I know what you mean . . . they are always that little bit special due to the care that goes into them. If you have an interest you might want to have a read of our history of Venetian glass?

I love Murano glass beads and so much so I made my blog LoveMurano!
I find the colours the depth and vibrancy amazing and how they get the effects in the glass of each handmade bead is amazing. I do use other kinds of beads as you can never have enough!!
Comment by Yogy on January 6, 2012 at 14:16 I love love Pearls and semi precious (jade, turquoise, lapis, onyx) stones as well.

Comment by Anna Weller of BBLB on November 17, 2011 at 18:08 We love beads and seeing what talented designers do with them to the extent that . . . we went and created an online bead shop so we could be at the centre of things!
Artist made and vintage are our particular favourites :-)
Comment by Joy Geoghegan on July 16, 2011 at 12:26 Hi, my favourite beads have to be pearlised, I absolutely love using them. I do also have some rhinestone encrusted rounds which are gorgeous. Although I quite fancy having a go at making my own paper beads, ribbon beads and Fimo clay ones too.
