After using loads of clear and frosted beads in my work over the winter I now find myself longing to add colour to my work - orange, red, blue and teal are my favourites at the moment. So, what colours and materials are you working with this spring, are you sticking to what you do best, following fashion or buying supplies that you will inspire you to come up with something new?

Well Pantone have already stated that Turquoise is the colour for 2010, so it sounds like a good habit!

I can't get enough turquoise which is way too early as it is such a summer colour, I seem to have loads of beads all green and blue and need to break out of the habit.... Maybe pale lilacs and pinks with a hint of lime!!
This spring/summer is going to be all about bright and bold to suit the new clothes ranges. Gone are the browns, greys and blacks of the winter, we are in spring at last and after an awful summer last year, we are all desperate to show it! Teal, coral, blue, red and beige... big and bold colours! "Apuela Beaded Jewellery" are working mostly with crystals and matt pearls in these colours and looking mainly at longer necklaces and chunky bracelets for a more casual look. Fabric beads will also be big this season! "Crystals and Ice" have some lovely crystals and have a peek at "Smitten Beads" for their super range of glass beads.
For me it kind of depends upon which lampwork beads catch my eye. I do tend to buy blues and green though as I like them!
What I can buy also depends on the colours the bead makers are using. I have been picking a lot of sea colours from my stash recently to work with oh and some gorgeous lilac beads caught my eye earlier this week.

I decided to make a Spring Collection this year and used the season's trends of Gelato colours. This was mainly prompted by the fact it would free time up to play once the shops were stocked up!! Have seen better sales too. Not sure I would do it if I didnt like this season's colour palette but it worked this time :)

i QUITE LIKE the pastel trends like pale rose, light blue, almond green.

I think these colours look great with gold and silver  tones too

I work with semi-precious stones so you are limited to some colours but I do try and follow the colour trends if possible but not the fashion trends as I stick with my own style. Soft citrus colours seem to be the thing for spring and like everyone else I can not wait to start and work with some brighter colours.

I make jewelry a bit different than most members, cause use beads and fabric. This is my first springy piece

This is beautiful Anette,

I love the fresh look that the necklace has and it is very spring like.

Are all the beads individual or is it create from beads inside a fabric tube?

Whatever it is very pretty and the possibility's  are endless with using fabrics, I bet this necklace would look great in a polka dot fabric.

Love it

Thank you Julie,

Yes I sew a tube and than attach beads inside. Yes polka dot will look great. Plenty of fabric I would like to use. just lack of time (6mths old daughter).
