Hi, I want to take this opportunity to remind sellers of jewellery NOT to allow potential customers to try on earrings. I thought that everyone involved in the jewellery business was aware of the hygiene implications of this practice, but to my horror today I witnessed a lady trying on several pairs of earrings at a stall today.

This is such an important issue, please pass the message on to as many people as you can!

Oh my god! Absolutely, You can buy a little perspex stick with a slot in ot so that customers can hold the earring up against their ear to see how it looks, most of the display companies will have them and they're really cheap.
To be honest I'm sure this is not a wide spread problem, as anywhere I have been before this does not happen and I wouldn't let someone try on earrings before buying. Think most people are aware that it is not hygienic!!
