Hello everyone as the name suggests I make handbags and enjoy creating them from 'other' things. This one was made from an old jacket bought from a charity shop.

Hello everyone - I've just joined - recognise a few names from Folksy. We had a clear out at home a few weeks ago and there were lots of old cassette tapes so before chucking them I had a go at crocheting with the tape and a piece of yarn. Not bad results actually and quite easy to work with. Haven't done anymore since the 'trial' but I've kept the tapes for "later". Anyone else out there tried it? I've seen a jumper recipe in one the 'Stitch n Bitch' books using video tape...

lots of fabulous and interesting ideas and projects in this group. I do knit (a lot!) but often from new yarns. I have re-used yarn on occasion. I am currently upcycling accessories from new and second use fabrics.e.g. curtain samples, childrens clothes. please look at my flickr phoitos and blog to see more!

These 2 pretty pillows started out as a table runner I simply cut the ends of added a concealed zip and hey presto, there's still enough fabric to make 3 more plain ones I might just have to add a button or two or maybe some lace.
I'm also in the lucky position that I work in a clothing alteration shop so I get to pick up whats been cut of some clothing and especially curtains, that make great bags, pillows etc.
