Hello Hampshire crafters! I am a massive crochet and sewing fan. As wll as this I organise craft fairs and thought I'd share details of a local event.....

QUEENIE'S CRAFT EMPORIUM AND HOG 'N' HOPS PRESENT THEIR......

SUMMER CRAFT AND ALE FAIR

13th July 2013

Bishopstoke Memorial Hall and Glebe Meadow (nr Eastleigh)

11am-4pm (set up 9.30am-clear up by 5.30pm)

£20 per 6ftx6ft pitch. Multiple adjoining pitches avaliable.

(All indoor pitches booked)

The ethos of our events is that all items are 100% handmade and sold by the maker. We aim to have a few of each type of stall (3 max) to provide a wide variety of stalls for visitors.

What makes our craft fair stand out is we team up with a local brewer to create a craft ale and cider event too. This has proved really popular with visitors (and a good husband/grandad drop off point)

These are family friendly events with children's crafts available to do and face painting, there will also be a BBQ featuring produce from local butchers and bakers.

We advertise extensively with 5000 flyers distributed, posters, banners, radio spots, council websites, and good old social media

Hiya,

I have just had a look at where people are located (if shown) and is seems those listed are from: Fareham; Salisbury; Romsey; Fleet; Petersfield; Winchester/Baingstoke and Southampton.

A look at the National Rail maps shows our best four stations to meet would be:

Basingstoke which has 2 interchanges and takes trains from First Great Wester, First Capital Connect & South West Trains.

Winchester which has 2 interchanges and takes trains from South West Trains & First Capital Connect

Eastleigh which has 3 interchanges and takes trains from South West Trains, First Capital Connect & Southern.

Southampton which has 4 interchanges and takes trains from First Great Western, South West Trains, First Capital Connect & Southern.

The map is dated 2012 so the lines should be up to date.  My choice, not because I live in Southampton, but because it has the most options and lots of places to have coffee, would be Southampton. I don't know anything about around Eastleigh station. Winchester station is at one end of town but again is a nice place to have coffee and I know nothing about Basingstoke station I'm afraid

I would be happy to hear any other options you may know of, as I have not been in Hampshire that long, Wiltshire & Sussex were my long terms homes.

Hi ladies..seems like every time i look there is another few of us crafters! I haven't been around much as have been ill but nothing major. I'm working on my website everyday and it's getting there! alsopainting furniture and trying to make/sew some things for it too..soyou see I don't have much spare time between that  and family commitments, but do want to meet with everyone if it's possible. Perhaps meeting at Waterloo station and going to a bar would be convenient? or somewhere on the mainline stations that is good for all of us??   Let me have your thoughts!

Hi,

I am a teacher & textile artist. I've been trying to build craft connections in Hampshire/surrounding counties but have not found many crafts people especially in Southampton - 1 only to date!

Have just found this forum, I mostly use Twitter (@Love_to_Stitch) & Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/FusionTextiles?ref=hl) & have a website http://www.fusiontextiles.co.uk

Would love to network & get some creative conversations & connections going!

Hello Hampshire Crafters, Just to introduce myself briefly. I live in Winchester and have a shop/workshop space in Sherborne St.John near Basingstoke. Much of what we sell is handmade, one off pieces, from furniture, clocks and decorations, to prints and sculpture. We are listed on ukhandmade and you can find us on facebook - www.facebook.com/prideandjoyshop.

We also have workshop space, which runs courses in loads of things. I'm really keen to see what artisans across Hampshire are up to, and would definitely up for a meet if we can find a suitable location.

Am just starting to explore this site, which looks really promising. x
