Stephanie Pearce - sorry meant to actually say what I would list.... I think I would say 'I made it', 'its a supply/tool', ' made to order, and then in catagory list as 'everything else' - I have no idea if this is right or not - perhaps worth looking at the forums in Etsy or starting a discussion there someone will know!!

Stephanie Pearce - ooo interesting I know what your meaning, have had a quick look on the forums on etsy but haven't found the answer... have found notes thats its ok to do though so that is good.  I also came across this link which may be useful to you if you wanted to try the feature in your shop

Hi Stephanie

I'm not sure really but check out this link it might help shipping profile postage is at the bottom of the listing. Are you listing a supply item if so pick supply at the top. Sorry not very helpful. Jacky

Hi, I need a bit of advice about a listing (hope I can explain properly!)

I want to add a listing thats just for a shipping upgrade so people can place an order then add the tracking service on if they want it.

When I raise this listing, what drop down boxes do I pick? is there somewhere I'm missing thats just for postage? or do I just list it as a supply?

thanks in advance

Stephanie

Hello to new folk and thanks for joining group

Jacky Massos - (Yes link working) it is a lot of work to get the shop going.  Had a quick look at your shop and would say your photos might be worth tweaking a little.  You can use free photo editing programmes like GIMP to lighten them up a little.  Also keep the backgrounds the same.  Also I would rearrange your shop so your products are a bit more cohesive, at the mo you have lots of different items all together but that can get confusing for buyers.  Also try to aoid anything getting chopped off on the thumb nail.  As long as your main pic is in landscape and you see the whole item you should be fine.  Quantity of items is great though that helps a lot!!  It took just over 100 to get noticed.

Your tags make them double words based on your title and anyting else relevant rather than single words.

Shipping I personally would up your main shipping and bring down the extra added item as that looks quite expensive.... I know its very expensive to ship but personally I would rather pay £9 plus 99p for other items so ship would be £11 for 3 items rather than £22.... you want people to buy more!! So that could put buyers off, remember Etsy is really big overseas so don't loose out on those buyers.

For more tips go to the Etsy handboook, Etsy blogs, Etsy Online labs, ask specific questions in the forums and if you follow all these little elements it will build up.  As I previously said I don't think many people sell on Etsy as their only source of income so don't put all eggs in one basket.

These notes apply to all shops so step back and take a look at your own shop and get friends to look and give yourself a little critique..... think what you look at when you buy online.

All the best!!
