UK Handmade

Supporting and promoting the best UK artists, designers and makers

Hi everybody!!!

I'm new at the group and already saw a lot of beautiful and inspiring posts.

I'm a visual artist and I'm working on recycled materials for my collages and illustrations.

I'm starting to check the market to sell my art work on line.

I'm living in London at the moment and my objects will be (hopefuly) delivery in UK, EU, USA and Brazil. I can't find a way to include a reasonable shipping price in my products.

All options I found (Royal Mail, UPS, DHL, Fedex, etc) are too expensive specially if I consider the shipping price of similar products in sites like Etsy, eBay, Facebook.

Do you have any tip to help me in this mater?

Thank you for any help and thank you for the lovely welcome messages in my page.

Warmest regards,

Paola Tonelli

Not sure there is a way round this - just got to bite the bullet. I make a loss on postage especially abroad , try and claw a bit of that back in the price of the product itself.

Thank you, Whitney. I probably need to select the products I can ship worldwide and the heavy ones try to keep local :) x

Hello Paola . . . Parcel Monkey are the cheapest courier solution we have found for shipping overseas or indeed for heavy items within the UK - http://www.parcelmonkey.co.uk - they resell DHL services. For general postage we use the Royal Mail website for the convenience of being able to print out our own postage labels etc.

If somebody wants your work then they will be aware they will need to pay for delivery so I would make everything available and provide a number of options for delivery so there is an element of choice - perhaps include a 'let's discuss delivery' option. Don't close down any avenues for sales!

Best of luck,

Anna
