i make my own handmade jewlerry , and i was wondering where to sell it , ive been through google and just cant find anything , one craft website that does fairs is called vintage craft , but my jewlerry was not accepted as it was not retro or vintage looking , which is a shame , ive made so much and want to get selling !
i make gemstone jewlerry such as labradorites and crystals
and i use alot of feathers making earrings
if anyone can help me find craft stalls or fairs it would help so much
thanks

Hi Emily,

Not being from around your way the only help I can give is to suggest looking through your local papers for any fairs that may be upcoming. If it is a well organised event there should be some form of advertising with contact details. You don't always find Craft fairs online, sometimes you just have to go out looking for them. Charity organisations are worth getting in touch with as they often have fundraising fairs, it's a good place to start and gets you into contact with crafters that may be able to help point you in the direction of other events.
Hope that helps slightly, just keep looking, something will turn up.
Hi Emily

These are some of the ones I know of in London, suggest you sign upto their mailing lists so you are informed of their upcoming fairs:

Wemake London: wemakelondon.blogspot.com/
Abney Hall Markets (run by Cabbages and Kings): http://www.ofcabbages.co.uk/OCK-News.htm

Sakura x
you could also set up an online shop on folksy, misi, dawanda, etsy, coriandr, artfire ...
Not to forget going around contacting galleries and boutiques
and there is also ebay

good luck
Another idea is Blog Shop. I have jsut created mine and will be posting instructions next week!

I also need some advice...I have done some stalls at Hampstead Community Market, the last one was yesterday and I didn't even make enough money to cover the rent of the stall!
I make Shetland Lace shawls and scarves, also hand-knitted berets and crochet flower-brooches, mainly in Shetland wool, but some of my items are made out of Manos del Uruguay, a blend of wool and silk.

Well, yes, they are luxury items, I suppose...and they are not cheap, because the materials (100% wool, handspun wool/silk blend) aren't cheap, and I put a lot of work into making them,

Any suggestions would be very gratefully received!
Bnjour Emily,

best for the money is to concentrate at first on school fairs and church sales
they will usually rent a table for fairly low prices, whic makes it easier to make a profit

maybe add to your range some cheaper items, which can be made very quickly and in the £15-25 range for small presents,. ideal for Xmas
another alternative is to raise your prices by maybe 5-10 % ?

+ of course keep inviting everyone you know and post posters and fllyers to shops/library/local places yourself in addition

Best of luck
Catherine
