Introduction to Copper Clay – Taster
2 Hours £42
Copper Clay looks and feels like normal clay but does in fact have fine particles of copper in it which are mixed with a non-toxic organic binder and water. Shape the clay into your piece of jewellery, let it dry, then burn away the clay to leave you with an individual piece of jewellery in pure metal.
A perfect half day course for beginners we will teach you through step by step instructions, learning simple techniques to create beautiful items of jewellery.
You will be shown how to set up your work area, how to use the basic tools and what they do, techniques of rolling, creating textures, firing and how to finish your work to a good standard. You will then be able to take home every item you have made.
The course includes access to all the tools and equipment that you will need to make the jewellery and 20grs of Copper Clay. Extra Metal clay will be available to buy on the day.
Once you have mastered Copper Clay move onto Silver Clay and produce solid silver jewellery.
No experience required and all tools and clay will be provided.
